CRYSTALS

When I was younger my Family and I went on a holiday to a Greek island, I can't remember what one it was as we used to travel around so many of them. On one of the island's we went to their was a cave that had hundreds of crystals still attached all around it. I remember it being so beautiful, I would of been younger than 10 when we did this, but it's managed to stay captured in my mind. I would love to go back now to have a look at it again, although it would of been made more of a tourist spot than somewhere you can just go and have a wonder.

I took inspiration from these pictures and created my very own crystal in a stippling style of work. I just wish it was real!

RIK LEE

Rik Lee is an amazing Illustrator. I've always admired his work since I first saw one of his pieces on an Honour Over Glory clothing item. His work always looks so neat and detailed which inspires me the most. It reminds me of Laura Von Burns work, but just more detailed.

LAURA VON BURNS

Today I got shown a new artist called Laura Von Burns. I love her style of work and the use of colour she experiments with. Von Burns style is very Graphical as she does a lot of Graffiti styled work.

Today I designed a little town on Illustrator. I used inspiration from Lotta Nieminen. I focused on layering and also adding a drop shadow behind each shape to create more of a 3D affect. I forget how much I enjoy doing illustrations like this on the computer, i'm normally more of a hands on type of person. I have also done quite a few other designs in the pas on Illustrator which I shall upload as well. Enjoy <3

As you can tell with some of these designs I explored into using a variety of shapes, textures and colours which I feel has worked really well with the outcomes that have been produced.

MANDALAS

Added to my sheet of Mandalas style work! Experimented a bit. Really enjoying doing this, lets my imagination run wild a little and I love the fact that no design I have done has been identical. I have recently done two cards, one for my mum and another for my boyfriend with Mandalas patterns on, will upload them when I get a photograph! More work to be added, Need to focus on my line work a bit more :)
STIPPLING

Hey everybody!! sorry I haven't updated in a little while, i'm useless with media sites, can only managed two at a time! I use instagram a lot though, so if anyone fancies giving me a follow it's unicornlaurel - This week I have been working on my tattooing portfolio a bit, testing out different styles of drawing as I have been doing old skool a lot and fancied a change! I have gone more towards stippling style drawings which I now love! experimenting with the different thickness's of fine liner and teaching myself how to create a shading affect by using dots. Loved it! Although the hand act after doing my A4 size skull hurt a tiny bit! ha ha! Am going to be doing some more things like this over the next couple of weeks, I promise to upload and use this more! Views have gone up quite a bit even though I haven't been using this much so thank you!

MANDALAS

New inspiration for the week. Black and white Mandalas. Would loved to of got a full sleeve in these style of patterns. Thinking, maybe a possible palm tattoo?

I tried out my first ever go at Mandalas style work. With dot work added. Not where near perfect, but going along the right lines, I thinks! Got to start somewhere, right?

LOTTA NIEMINEN

Lotta Nieminen is one of my favourite Graphic Designers and illustrators. Her work is always so interesting and bold. The way she adds texture to her design's also captures my attention.
